Malawi Court denies former President Mutharika’s security aide Chisale’s bail on Njauju murder charge
LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The High Court in the capital Lilongwe on Friday, August 28, 2020 denied granting bail to former President Peter Mutharika’s security aide Norman Chisale, who is accused of murdering former Anti-Corruption Bureau officer Issa Njauju in 2014.
Chisale did not personally appear in Judge Ivy Kamanga’s court which was held in camera for the bail ruling.
The ruling was represented by his lawyer Chancy Gondwe who denied to take questions to reporters outside the court.
Chisale ,who is currently on remand for the case, was this morning arrested on another case involving using a fake certificate to secure a job at Malawi Defence Force-MDF..
The court is yet to make a date on the new charges on which Chisale will appear.
The former president Mutharika’s security aid has been arrested for fourth time on different charges.
