Mutharika leaves fate in the hands of Malawi Voters

Mzuzu, June 20, MaraviPost: President Professor Peter Mutharika on Saturday wound up his campaign for the forthcoming fresh presidential election with a call to Malawians to vote for him for development.
He said voting for the opposition would be voting for violence and demonstrations.
Mutharika pledged to continue with development projects across the country.
I would like to remind you that in the Tuesday Fresh Presidential poll, you have two choices to make. You have to choose development of the country or continued political violence that the country has experienced in the last eleven months,” said Mutharika at Bumba school in Rumphi.
Mutharika, who is standing on a DPP/UDF ticket in the fresh poll, said once retained as the country’s head of state, would ensure that all the development projects he promised in the north were completed.
“You are all aware that my government initiated a number of development projects like the Njakwa-Livingstonia road, the Mombera University among others which have not yet been completed but we know with time, we will surely finish them,” he said.
He also said that the 2020/2021 national budget has included various projects.
“We are continuing with the Community Technical Colleges, the Malawi Rural Electrification Project as well as various water supply projects.
I, however, ask you to vote for me so that all the above mentioned projects are fulfilled as you might be aware that the opposition always dumps our planned development projects,” said Mutharika.
DPP regional governor for the North, Christopher Mzomera Ngwira called on people to vote for Mutharika.
