Malawi’s Wezi Medical centre ready to accommodate Covid-19 patients in Mzuzu

MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Director of the newly established Wezi Medical centre in Mzuzu, Dr Dougras Lungu has confirmed the clinics preparedness to take care of Covid-19 patients.
The clinics hopes has been boosted with the donation of various items from the Mzuzu Asian business Community like personal protective equipments(PPEs) ,matresses,medicated soap and more.
The Asian community has also facilitated the maintenance and paintings of all the roofs and floors at the clinic in readiness of handling the Covid-19 patients which has approximately costed them MK4million.
Dr Lungu said the donation has come at a right time to help fight the pandemic.
“Mzuzu as a city is struggling on how to respond to the pandemic.With the donation,we can now confirm that the facility is ready .”said Dr Lungu
This is not the first time for the asian community donating to a hospital since last month they also helped the Mzuzu central hospital with Covid-19 preparedness equipment.
Representative of the Mzuzu Asian business Community Ash Rashid Bano said that they are doing this to make sure that the hospitals are up and running in this time of Covid-19 pandemic.
As of May 22, 2020,Mzuzu had registered three cases out of 72 confirmed cases in Malawi.
