Malawi’s central region business forum endorses Tonse Alliance

Central region business publicity secretary Clement Kanthiti for Tonse Alliance

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Central region business committee on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 endorsed Tonse Alliance citing good economic policies put across to implement once voted into power, come June 23, 2020.

The grouping told the news conference in the capital Lilongwe that Tonse Alliance leadership of Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and Dr. Saulos Chilima manifesto highly motivates business sector including small, medium and large scale.

The committee’s publicity secretary Clement Kanthiti laughed off current implementation of Madef loans favour ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) sympathizers leaving out potential business persons.

Kanthiti observed that current President Peter Mutharika leadership has always misplaced public funds for political and personal interests.

He therefore optimistic of Tonse government implementation of corrupt free and viable tax to all cross-boarder business regardless of political, tribal, regional affiliations.

“Enough of this corrupt DPP government that favour loans to only its supporters leaving us all with nothing for our own public resources.

“Therefore with Tonse alliance economic policies line up will implement public procurement and disposal of asset promoting Malawians in the supply of goods and services to public institutions for meaningful economic growth,” he said.

Kanthiti adds; “We see the Tonse Alliance to promote private sector business as key element in promotion of sustainable-macro-economic growth and vibrant private sector hence endorsing the forthcoming inclusive leadership of Dr Chakwera and Chilima for better Malawi”.

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and UTM lead Tonse Alliance along side with its partners including Peoples Party (PP), Aford, PPM, Chipani Chafuko, Umodzi Party, Mafunde and Freedom Party.

Alliance torchbearer Chakwera with runningmate Chilima will face Mutharika alongside Atupele Muluzi on fresh presidential elections on June 23, 2020.

The fresh polls follows Constitutional Court (ConCourt)’ s February 3, 2020 nullification of May 21, 2019 elections
