Malawi schools reopen: Is Covid-19 manageable?

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Schools across the country on Monday, September 2020 reopened after months of closure over Covid-19 spike.

Spot check in some schools show that there is positive response to precautionary measure against Covid-19.

But in some circumstances pupils especial of standard eight are finding hard to put on face masks as requirement.

According to Zodiak schools in Neno district, schools have re-opened on a positive note.

For instance at Chifunga Primary and Chiwale Secondary schools, learners have been briefed by their headteachers on Covid-19 preventive measures and are all wearing face masks and have been provided with hand washing facilities.

Neno District Education Manager Reuben Menyere says they will keep monitoring the situation for continued adherence to the Covid-19 guidelines.

In Lilongwe at Chinsapo secondary school, similar situation were also observed as students are mandatory to put on masks.
